A Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

After listening Stieg Larsson magnificent fiction literary work the Millennium Trilogy, I was pondering over this work of literature that had stay with me for so long. I got to choose from various aspects:

Reader Satisfaction: The fulfillment experience along the reader-ride path by the most contemporary novels of actual current affairs --corruption, crime, blackmail and domestic violence--;  a work that carries all the elements to deliver such effect on a well conquered audience.

Original Plot: Mikael Blomkvist investigative journalist is sentence to prison for allegations about billionare Hans-Erik Wennerstrom. Meanwhile he embarks on an assignment propose by CEO of Vanger Enterprises Henrik Vanger, ignoring he is being put under investigation by private investigator Lisbeth Salander.
Blomkvist work on assignment from Vanger estates getting familiar with the case-assign of disappearing niece Harriet  and Vanger relatives whom found his presence unappealing.
On Salander’s side, she encounter her new guardian who extort and sexually abuse her as an exchange to access her own funds. After couple sexual assaults which include rape she counteracts the extortion, tattooing and blackmailing him with the publication of a video of him raping her in return for complete access of her funds.
Blomkvist found Salander hacking on his computer as she try to help on his case-assignment, then he pursue her to team on the research. Together they discover Harriet’s notes and the realization of a serial killer in the person of latest CEO of Vanger Enterprises, Martin Vanger, Harriet’s brother. Salander saves Blomkvist’s life seconds away from the death as Martin attempts to kill him, Martin encounter death on a car accident trying to scape Salander’s persecution.
Martin’s revelation that Harriet disappear before his eyes without a trace, lead Blomkvist to track her after Anita Vanger identification in Australia, there he convince her to visit Henrik Vanger in Sweden to reunited. Blomkvist promised not to revealed the horror crime history of Vanger family under the condition that Vanger Enterprises will donate considerable funds to institutions that support victims of domestic violence.
Blomkvist paid a short term on prison, while there Salander hack Wennerstroom’s computer bringing to light crimes and corruption not revealed yet on Blomkvist documents. He delivered the truth which plunger Wennerstrom, later found dead. The prints on Wennerstrom’s affairs rocked Blomkvist and Millenium editorial to the best at career and nationwide.
Last, Salander made use of her superb computer skills irrupting on Wennerstrom secrets banks adopting various identities and excel on taking a nip of funds to herself, unnoticed by everyone but not to Blomkvist.

A Taste of Larsson’s Life Endurance on Sweden's Quill:

Observing Stieg Larsson’s life we learn that The Millenium Trilogy was inspired on and throughout his life experiences regarding humanity. His existence was held with endurance trying to pursuing justice meanwhile receiving death threats. He was a devoted activist for human rights, fighting against discrimination, and domestic violence.
As a journalist and editor-in-chief of Expo Magazine in Sweden he often wrote to expose extremist movements of right-wing, neo-Nazi and anti-democratic tendencies.

About Kindle Ebooks and Self-Publishing

Amazon Kindle e-books have created an enormous tsunami on traditional publishers backyard. The ripple begun thereabouts back on November 2007. The continuum effects of a digital era over paper strikes directly to legacy publishers, whom over centuries have held and monopolized printing and distribution materials.  This is a shift favoring authors, retailers and consumers.

A dynamic character and behavior proper of digital technology, bring closer in a matters of seconds and over night authors/publishers and e-readers (light portable device, affordable price data, fast and easy data delivery,  full feature and versatile device, etc), causes consumers to embrace a fresh media tech, which bolster the trends and  swirls up a leading market place.

Media        ->            Consumer       ->         Market Place

To adhere to the facts of the matter very recently; it hit Borders Books closing doors on over 200 stores,  independent bookstores  are rethinking the entire business model to find a balance trying to complement their physical shelves with online book-selling,  public libraries have to adjust a bit offering programs and courses that engage the community in social media and mobile gadgets. Public libraries had report naturally, an increase in the usage of digital products over the last year considerably.

Self-publisher authors also have work to do,  their self-publishing choices bring along with it the necessity of marketing management too. Its a big deal for an author to performed a promotion these days easily on the internet with social media and  youtube, etc. However there are several factors a self-publisher must consider: writer/manager alone, marketing, money, time, tight market and prestige.

But throughout this changes we observed that some authors decide to go self-publishing  while others being there choose to publicized at the same time with traditional publisher, JA Konrath and Amanda Hocking authors respectively. JA Konrath revealed his reason and Amanda Hocking as well, each one with a different perspective. Authors will come and go shifting from one side to another according to their need, but something  is certain digital media era prevail, it has established a market.

In the music arena Rebeca Black has self-published her single song "Friday", to gain an audience of over 62 million listeners from March 11th to 29th this year. Indeed, "gatekeepers" are losing power,  times when  publishers and producers select an artist are fading away.

Amazon Kindle Adding Real Page Numbers

Kindle 3 generation owners are the first to browse and reference on page numbers Kindle books with the correspondent print editions. It is Amazon latest software upgrade 3.1, adding real page numbers to Kindle books. This new feature comes along with other useful additions:

Make your notes public and share with others.

Rate and share your opinion in the social media of books read.

A fresh layout for newspapers and magazines.

Amazon Web Services informed that real page numbers are available in 10.000 of the most popular Kindle books including bestselling books.

This software update feature, "added real page numbers" satisfied the interest and need for many Kindle owners of matching the correspondent counterpart print materials they happen to read or study at club books, at the school, university or professional office. Clearly, it has an academic purpose for some, while for others not make a bit of difference -- those who get lost in the reading--, and no need point of reference.

Systems are not always perfect, and while Kindle popularity is still in the raising, the technology under which Kindle reader is operating, had a long way to go when comes to deliver a perfect system to match every page number in print editions Amazon Kindle decides to convert electronically.

But, while these considerations on Kindle are taking place among all of us, you might observe that printed publications are considerably less popular as time goes by, notice many newspapers and magazines publications are switching to e-books readers, as a palliative and direct result of lower traditional subscriptions and sales. Authors are already publicizing online instead of prints. We are in an earlier stage of a transitional process from paper text to electronic display. So while that switching long process is on, Amazon Web Services is trying the best to duplicate death-tree versions.

In the future we will probably perceive real page numbers so archaic, while we will refer to a location number instead, as e-publishing will take over traditional print.
